Het dertiende deel in onze met een Edison bekroonde serie Jazz at the Concertgebouw bevat opnamen uit 1960 van Jazz at the Philharmonic. Eerst een jam-sessie met onder anderen Coleman Hawkins, Don Byas, Roy Eldridge, Benny Carter en Jo Jones. Daarna het Dizzy Gillespie-kwintet met Leo Wright en als speciale gasten J.J. Johnson, Stan Getz en percussionist Candido. Zoals gebruikelijk biedt het cd-booklet foto’s van het concert en een reproductie van het originele programma. De liner notes zijn geschreven door Bert Vuijsje.
